When is it best to book your honeymoon? Early or Late?

Organising your wedding can be a pretty stressful but at what stage should you add the honeymoon on the list of things to do?  Richard Dixon, managing director of honeymoon specialist Holidaysplease.co.uk gives some advice…..

Planning a wedding can be like a military operation and if you are not careful, booking the honeymoon can becomes just another task. If it does then you could miss out on the excitement that planning the best holiday of your life can give.

General wisdom is that you should look to book your honeymoon sooner rather than later. This is necessary if you want the best resort and nicest rooms. With a honeymoon your date is set in stone and so it is a huge risk to leave it until the last minute.

Another great reason to book early is that you will have time to look forward to the honeymoon. Leave it late and booking the holiday can turn into a chore or worse a mass panic!

Will booking early mean I could miss bargains?

Not necessarily! Many tour operators give “early bird” discounts if you book early. They can offer particularly good offers for honeymoon holidaymakers as they know how important it is to attract these high spending customers. They also know today’s honeymooners are tomorrow’s family holidays!

Also if you book your honeymoon ahead of sending out your wedding invitations then you can take advantage of gift list programs that are available. These gift lists allow other members of the wedding party to contribute towards the honeymoon or activities on it. Thousands of pounds may be contributed and will therefore reduce the cost of the honeymoon considerably. For example of a gift list service just visit Honeymoons at Holidays Please
