Have your guests RSVP the easy way!

Want an easy way to have your guests RSVP to your wedding invitations?

Why not include a postcard RSVP card with your invitations! Write out a gap-fill answer sheet on the front, your postal address on the back of the card, and all your guests have to do is fill in the blanks, and pop it in the post - It’s that simple!
You can then just tick your guests off your list upon reception of your cards (although, do bear in mind there will be the odd few you have to chase up!!).

Why RSVP?

Well there are two possible questions here:

Why should you RSVP?
And
Why the term RSVP?

To answer the first, RSVP-ing is a huge part of your wedding - it is vital to the effective planning and preparations of your special day. If your guests don’t RSVP then you’ll find yourself on the day with no guests; or too many guests… a thought too horrifying to even consider! So, you need a way of ensuring your guests will RSVP … without having to resort to bribery or blackmail. Sending out postcard RSVP cards is effective and cost efficient. You can always also include a number which your guests can RSVP too, just to make sure.

As to the second question, the term RSVP is an abbreviation and comes from the French ‘Repondez, s’il vous plait”, which literally translates to “Answer, please”. Makes a bit more sense eh? Which is why it’s unnecessary to add ‘please’ before the RSVP, as you would effectively be saying “Please answer, please”.

Your cards

Keep it short and sweet - keep your wording simply and clear - no more than a couple of lines is needed. All you need to include on there is the reply by date and the confirmation of attendance. As said above, this confirmation of attendance can be written out by you, and so all your guests have to do is fill in the blanks. You should also allow them to specify how many guests are attending, as, if you’re inviting a family of two adults and their three children, you’ll need to know whether all five will be attending.

In addition, you can allow guests to specify whether they have any special dietary requirements - this will come in handy when planning your menus.

Where to get them

You can find an online shop which offers the possibility to create and personalise your own stationery, and you can be sending off your invitations in no time, in the comfort of knowing you will have a quick and efficient reply off your guests! This ‘postcard’ effect is even more relevant if you are getting married abroad, or if you have friends and family who live abroad, as it gives it a real ‘holiday’ feel! You could put a picture of your romantic wedding location, giving your guests a little taster of your wedding day. Or, if you don’t mind playing with paper and glue, why not handmake them: all you need is some card, a nice pen, and whatever bits and bobs you want to stick on there!

Create your bespoke RSVP cards and be sure your guests will be blown away by your creativity and originality.
