Tips on Wedding Flowers

Choosing the right company for any part of your big day is paramount to ensuring everything runs as smoothly as possible. Perhaps one of the biggest parts of your wedding day (apart from the marriage itself of course) is the decoration you choose to make yourself and your venue look stunningly beautiful.

A major part of those decorations are the flowers you choose. Depending on your budget, you could spend many hundreds or even thousands of pounds on your wedding flowers, but even if you can’t afford to do so, there is no reason why you should make do with the bare minimum of floral displays you can get away with. There are a few tips we can recommend for getting more than your budget allows, and ensuring that what you do spend is spent wisely and gives you the best value for money.

•Have you considered growing your own flowers? Dependent on what time of year you are getting married, there are many options to choose from. Why not become handy in the garden and lovingly nurture your very own wedding flowers? Just think how proud you will feel on the day knowing you grew them yourself! Plus you will be able to have many more flowers than you would if you bought them from a florist!

•Ask friends and relatives if any of them are handy/florists themselves, and would consider arranging your wedding flowers for you instead of giving you a wedding gift. Many people would be flattered to be trusted with such a special part of your day. Be sure you could trust them to do a good job though before you even ask, otherwise things may become awkward if you change your mind!

•Consider artificial flowers. Many these days look extremely realistic, and not only are they around half the cost in the first place, they will last, so you can either keep them or sell them on and make some of that money back!

•If you do insist on having a proper florist pick and arrange your flowers, always be sure to make sure that they are reputable traders. Visit wedding service review sites and see what other peoples experiences have been of their company. Other people’s recommendations are so important, and we would advise not taking on any company for your wedding without hearing from at least a couple of their past customers.
